I Will Die for the Indonesian People: Prabowo

Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto delivered an emotional statement reaffirming his commitment to protecting Indonesia’s national wealth from corruption and smuggling, saying he is prepared to risk his life to defend the interests of the people.

Speaking at the Attorney General’s Office building in Jakarta on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Prabowo likened the nation’s wealth to blood in the human body, warning that continuous losses would endanger the survival of the state.

“If the human body keeps bleeding every day, it will eventually die. The state is the same. Our wealth is leaking due to robbery, theft, false reporting, under-invoicing, and bribery of officials. How can the state survive?” Prabowo said.

The president stressed that he remains undeterred by criticism or ridicule from parties opposed to his efforts to combat corruption and illicit financial practices. He said the mandate given to him by the people is a responsibility he will uphold for the rest of his life.

“I was elected and inaugurated for the Indonesian people. I will die for the Indonesian people. For me, dying for the people is an honor,” Prabowo declared.

Prabowo also delivered a philosophical message to law enforcement officers and officials working on the front lines, urging them to reflect on the values they leave behind.

“What are we seeking in this world as human beings? When an elephant dies, it leaves its tusks; when a tiger dies, it leaves its stripes; when a human dies, they leave their name,” he said.

He added that defending the truth, protecting the people, and safeguarding the nation’s future would be a noble legacy. “If we are called by God while defending justice and the people, we face the Almighty with sincerity and honor,” Prabowo concluded.
