Bandung: PT Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) is targeting IDR87 trillion in total assets by the end of 2026, following its spin-off as an independent entity.

BSN President Director Alex Sofjan Noor added that the bank is targeting financing of IDR66 trillion and third-party funds (DPK) of IDR69 trillion by the end of the year.

As of June 2026, BSN’s total assets stood at IDR78.8 trillion, marking a 20.1 percent year-on-year (yoy) increase compared to the previous year’s IDR 65.6 trillion. The figure exceeded the bank’s first-half target by 0.8 percent.

Double-digit financing growth

Asset growth was driven primarily by an increase in financing disbursement, which reached IDR59.6 trillion in June 2026, representing a 23 percent yoy increase. The figure accounted for 99.2 percent of the bank’s first-half target.

The financing portfolio remained dominated by the housing sector, which accounted for 93 percent of total financing. This included subsidized mortgages (KPR) worth IDR37.19 trillion, non-subsidized mortgages worth IDR18.36 trillion, Yasa Griya financing worth IDR 1.97 trillion, non-Yasa Griya financing worth IDR1.28 trillion, and non-mortgage financing worth IDR 0.81 trillion.

BSN is also targeting the disbursement of 73,700 units under the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) program throughout 2026. By June, the bank had provided financing for 27,888 housing units.

Meanwhile, third-party funds reached IDR61.6 trillion, an 11.5 increase yoy. Growth in low-cost funds was supported by strengthened digital services through the Bale Syariah by BSN application.

The performance helped BSN record a net profit to IDR444 billion in the first half of 2026, a 10.7 percent yoy increase. The achievement represented 112.2 percent of the bank’s first-half target.

BSN’s net interest margin (NIM) also rose from 3.72 percent to 4 percent. Fee-based income followed a similar trend, surging 89.9 percent yoy to IDR127.3 billion.

“In the second half of this year, we will focus on accelerating asset quality management, optimizing collections, and strengthening provisioning to ensure business expansion continues in a responsible and prudent manner,” Alex said.

BTN supports BSN’s expansion

BTN President Director Nixon L.P. Napitupulu said the bank would continue to support the growth of its subsidiary, BSN, as part of its strategy to strengthen the sharia banking ecosystem.

According to Nixon, Indonesia’s sharia banking market still has significant potential for further development, with BSN expected to expand the reach of sharia financing services, particularly in the housing sector.
