President Prabowo Ensures The Aid Distribution Rp20 Billion per Regency in NTT

Nagekeo: President Prabowo Subianto ensures the aid funds totalling Rp20 billion for each regency in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has been distributed. That aid is allocated specifically for earthquake-impact management.

“Has the Rp20 billion aid (for) each regency arrived?” said Prabowo during chairing the coordination meeting on post-earthquake response at Markas Batalyon Teritorial Pembangunan Evacuation Center (Yon TP) 834/Wakanga Mere, Mbay, Nagekeo, NTT, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, 26th August 2026.

The Head of National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Letjen TNI Suharyanto confirmed all aid funds have been transferred to the local government’s coffers.

“We have also conveyed to Mr. Regent that the aid is not permitted to be used for other things except for managing the disaster,” said Suharyanto.

The Governor of NTT Melki Laka Lena explained all regencies on Flores Island have received the Rp20 billion aid. While, the Provincial Government of NTT (Pemprov NTT) gets a budget allocation of Rp40 billion.

Melki also appreciates the central government’s attention that allocated aids to the East Flores Regency although that region is not directly affected by the earthquake. That area is facing the eruption of Lewotobi Mountain.

“All regencies on this Flores Island get Rp20 million and the Province RP40 billion. Because it (East Flores) also gets because it is affected by Lewotobi, Mr. President. The eruption of Lewotobi Mountain is already two years and (we) expressed our special gratitude because (it is) not included but gets (the aid) too,” expressed Melki.

Besides relying on funding from the central government, Pemprov NTT mobilizes support from local businesses to provide basic needs fulfillment of the evacuees with a funding scheme covered by the local government. Starting from food, beverage, blankets, and mattress.

“In short, make sure no one is left without food or drink or blanket or mattress,” Melki emphasized.
