Jakarta: Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin revealed the outcomes of the Kabinet Merah Putih plenary session held at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He said President Prabowo Subianto delivered a number of special directives concerning the nation’s current situation.

“In terms of national stability, the President emphasized to both the police and the military to remain solid, to cooperate, and to jointly carry out their duties in order to achieve security and comfort for the Indonesian people as a whole,” Sjafrie said at the Presidential Palace on Sunday.

According to him, the Head of State has instructed National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Indonesian Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto to take firm and measured actions, particularly in law enforcement and addressing violations.

“The President stressed that all criminal offenses, including damage to property, public facilities, and private assets, must be dealt with decisively and in accordance with the law,” Sjafrie explained.

President Prabowo also called on the police and military not to hesitate in taking firm action against rioters and looters, whether they target private property or state institutions.

“The police and the military will act firmly against anything that threatens public order and security, as well as anything that undermines the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” Sjafrie said.
