Prabowo Appeals for Peace in Gaza, Seeks Relief from Humanitarian Crisis

New York: President Prabowo Subianto urge an immediate end to the war in Gaza and pushes the international community to end the humanitarian disaster that continues to claim thousands of lives, especially women and children.

The call was made in a speech at the High-Level International Conference for a Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution at UN Headquarters in New York, United States, on Monday, September 22, 2025.

"With heavy hearts, we are reminded of the ongoing tragedy in Gaza. Thousands of innocent lives, many women and children, have been lost. A humanitarian disaster is unfolding before our eyes," Prabowo said.

President emphasized that Indonesia condemns all forms of cruelty against civilians and considers ending the war to be the "highest priority" for the entire global community.

Prabowo also emphasized that the world must not remain silent in witnessing the suffering of the Palestinian people. He urged countries that have not yet taken a firm stance to take immediate action to stop the violence.

"We must stop the humanitarian disaster in Gaza. Ending the war must be our priority. We must overcome hatred and fear," he said.

In a forum also attended by world leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to the Two-State Solution as the only path to lasting peace in the Middle East.

According to him, recognizing the state of Palestine is a historic step that cannot be delayed any longer.
