Veda Pratama Confident of Strong Performance at Moto3 GP Indonesia 2026

Central Lombok: Honda Team Asia rider Veda Pratama is optimistic he can improve in the qualifying and race sessions of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia Moto3, after finishing 10th fastest in the first free practice (FP1) session.
According to organizer statistics, Veda clocked a time of 1 minute 38.746 seconds during FP1 at the Mandalika International Circuit in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Friday 9 October 2026.
"Yes, it went well," the 17-year-old Indonesian rider briefly told ANTARA after the session.
The Moto3 FP1 session took place from 09:00 to 09:35 WITA (Central Indonesian Time). Riders used the session to familiarize themselves with track conditions and find suitable bike settings before continuing preparations for the next sessions.
Based on the FP1 results, David Almansa of Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP was the fastest rider with a time of 1 minute 37.515 seconds. Veda was 1.231 seconds off the pace set by the Spanish rider.
Veda is competing in his debut Moto3 season with Honda Team Asia in 2026. His appearance at Mandalika is a major point of interest for Indonesian motorcycle racing fans, as he is competing in front of a home crowd for the first time.
With an initial result placing him in the top 10, Veda hopes to maintain this positive momentum and perform even more competitively in the qualifying and race sessions this weekend.
The Moto3 FP1 is part of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia event series. According to the MotoGP schedule, the 2026 Indonesian GP at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit takes place from October 9 to 11.
