Government Continues Sent Aid to Flores Earthquake Affected Residents

Jakarta: Residents affected by an earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), continue to receive assistance, with the latest aid sent by Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower through the Kemnaker Peduli Program.
In the first phase, the aid distributed came from funds raised by Kemnaker Peduli personnel, totaling Rp119.7 million. The assistance consisted of 250 basic-needs packages, 250 envelopes containing financial assistance, and 20 tarpaulins.
The aid distribution was described as a form of concern from the Ministry of Manpower and its partners for communities affected by the earthquake.
“We will distribute aid from the Kemnaker Peduli Program to West Manggarai, East Manggarai, Manggarai Regency, and Nagekeo. The assistance comes from our colleagues at the Ministry of Manpower and our partners, with the hope that it can help ease the suffering of communities on Flores Island,” Special Staff to the Minister of Manpower Sukro Muhab said in a statement in Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Friday September 11, 2026.
The aid distribution began in West Manggarai Regency, with 60 basic-needs packages and cash assistance handed out in two sessions, in the morning and afternoon. In the afternoon, the Kemnaker Peduli team dispatched volunteers to distribute 80 basic-needs packages and cash assistance to Nagekeo Regency.
“Next, we will distribute 110 aid packages to the Reo, Lembor, and Mbeliling areas, bringing the total assistance provided in this first phase to 250 basic-needs packages, 250 envelopes containing financial assistance, and 20 tarpaulins,” Sukro said.
The Kemnaker Peduli Program also received support from Perum Jasa Tirta amounting to Rp18 million, as well as 20 tarpaulins from the Forum of Vocational Training Institution Accreditation Bodies (LA-LPK). The tarpaulins were distributed to East Manggarai, Nagekeo, and Reo.
Aid for communities affected by the earthquake in Flores is expected to continue, along with the distribution of assistance through the Kemnaker Peduli Program in several areas across Flores Island, including West Manggarai, East Manggarai, Manggarai Regency, Nagekeo, and other affected areas.
