Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto has approved an increase in Ready-to-Use Funds (DSP) from the State Budget to strengthen emergency response efforts following the devastating flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said on Wednesday (December 3) that the president ensured funding would not be an obstacle in handling the crisis.
“If additional funds are needed, they will be provided. This applies to all ministries and agencies involved, including the TNI and the National Police,” he stated, as quoted from Antara, Thursday, 4 December 2025.
Hadi emphasized that emergency operations across the three affected provinces are running at maximum capacity with full support from the central government. The main priority, he said, is ensuring rapid and effective handling on the ground.
“All national resources are being mobilized to manage the situation,” he added.
The government is also tightening cross-ministerial coordination to ensure the smooth distribution of essential supplies. According to Hadi, food stocks remain sufficient, and state energy firm Pertamina continues to meet fuel demands, including airlifting fuel to isolated areas cut off by the disaster.
He noted that the government is still capable of managing the aftermath and maintaining adequate support for survivors.
Regarding international assistance, Hadi said Indonesia is not considering foreign aid at this stage.
“For now, no. We are not opening that option. But we appreciate the concern shown by many friendly countries,” he said.
Flash floods struck the three provinces on November 25, 2025. As of December 3, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) reported 804 fatalities, with 634 people still missing.
