Minister Prepare IDR10 trillion to Finance MSME Intellectual Property

Kota Palu: Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas has begun rolling out an intellectual property (IP)-based financing scheme, with a credit ceiling of IDR10 trillion for 2026, to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) scale up.
“The government, through a coordination meeting with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, has established a credit ceiling of IDR10 trillion for IP-based financing this year,” he said while delivering remarks at the MSME Festival (Gebyar UMKM) in Palu City on Sunday, quoted from Antara.
According to Supratman, the scheme allows intellectual property certificates, including copyrights, trademarks, and patents, to be used as collateral for bank loans.
“All of this initiative is the result of collaboration between the Law Ministry, the Ministry of MSMEs, and the Ministry of Creative Economy, followed by adjustments to Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulations so that state-owned banks can distribute these loans,” he said.
He added that the scheme adopts best practices from developed and ASEAN countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, which have already implemented similar financing mechanisms on a large scale.
He urged business owners in the regions, particularly in Palu and Central Sulawesi, to register their licenses and trademarks as soon as possible.
“Trademark registration is now much easier, and micro and small businesses receive special treatment from the state regarding Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) fees,” he said.
He added that the Law Ministry is currently preparing for the full digitalization of 470 types of public services, effective October 1, to improve service efficiency and transparency for the public.
