Aceh: President Prabowo Subianto confirmed that he will continue to monitor developments in post-disaster management in Sumatra. He also will conduct regular, direct coordination in disaster areas to expedite decision-making and ensure that no needs are overlooked.

"I will continue to monitor. Perhaps every few days, I will continue to visit all regions. I don't just want to provide moral support; I just want to know and hear directly what is needed so that quick decisions can be made. So, perhaps we will hold general meetings in each region," Prabowo stated, as quoted in a written statement on Monday, December 8, 2025.

The President also chose to spend the night in Aceh to lead a limited meeting on disaster management in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The meeting lasted until late at night on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

In his remarks, the President expressed optimism that Indonesia has the experience and strength to face this major challenge if all parties act together.

"We have experienced major disasters and great trials. But through cooperation and solidarity, we were able to overcome them," said Prabowo.

President also expressed his appreciation for the officers after witnessing their tireless work in the field.

"I saw it myself in the field. I asked the soldiers, and some had been working for seven days, eight days. Thank you," Prabowo said.

According to Prabowo, every field visit was conducted to ensure that aid was properly distributed. "We must ensure that nothing the people need goes undelivered," Prabowo emphasized.
