Jakarta: Sudaryono has been appointed as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), following the resignation of Nanik S. Deyang.
Sudaryono will step down from his post as Deputy Minister of Agriculture to focus on his new role, while Nanik will transition into an oversight role within the BGN Supervisory Board.
The bottom line is that theres a problem in governance, and this is a major challenge. I will work hard to fix what needs to be fixed, said Sudaryono at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
He said he wasnt alone in improving governance. Sudaryono was assisted by two deputy heads of the National Civil Service Agency (BGN) and the entire Red and White Cabinet.
He further emphasized that BGN governance would be more transparent. Sudaryono ensured that nothing would be hidden anymore.
Perhaps if there are still manual processes, how can we prevent them from being manual or provide digital records? And any hidden activities must be avoided, and everything must be transparent, Sudaryono said.
The appointment was announced by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi at the State Palace on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
Hadi cited Sudaryono’s active involvement in the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) as the driving factor behind the appointment.
“Sudaryono has been involved with the MBG since its inception. His duties as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture were closely tied to the program,” he said, as quoted in a Metro TV Breaking News broadcast.
The government is currently working to fill the vacated Deputy Minister of Agriculture position.
