Agam Regency: West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi noted the rapid response and prioritized rescuing victims of the flash floods that struck Jorong Toboh, Nagari (village) of East Malalak, Malalak District, Agam Regency. He also requested that the basic needs of affected residents be met.

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and volunteers are focusing on rescuing victims and providing basic needs. "That's the priority," Mahyeldi said, as quoted by Antara, Friday, November 28, 2025.

Once that's met, he said, various follow-up processes will be carried out according to needs on the ground. Emergency response that must be provided immediately to affected victims includes health services, distribution of logistical aid, and the establishment of evacuation posts.

"The establishment of public kitchens must also be done immediately," he emphasized.

At the same time, the former Mayor of Padang emphasized that opening road access is a top priority. The goal is to expedite disaster response during the province's emergency response period.

"The smooth operation of transportation routes is crucial for the speed of disaster management and logistics distribution," he said.

Roads in the Sawah Tuko hamlet, Tanjung Koto Mambang Village, Sungai Durian, Patamuan District, Padang Pariaman Regency, have been impassable due to landslides in several locations since November 24. Furthermore, several roads in Malalak District, Agam Regency, have also collapsed and become impassable to four-wheeled vehicles.
