Jakarta: Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung Wibowo, opens the opportunity for Singapore investment into the Jakarta MRT Phase 3 and Phase 4 projects, as well as the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), conveyed during a meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong, at the Singaporean Prime Minister's Istana.

Pramono seeks to strengthen Singaporean investment into various targeted programs, including urban transformation initiatives, which would support Jakarta's transformation into a global city.

“Investing in Jakarta today means gaining access into one of Southeast Asia’s largest markets. The flow of investment into Jakarta would contribute to Indonesia's growth, strengthen the ASEAN economy, and create added value for our regional partners, including Singapore," wrote Pramono in a statement reported by Antara, Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Governor Pramono would also emphasize the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to creating a transparent, efficient, and consistent investment climate, adding that policy certainty acts to build investor confidence.

“We want Singaporean businesses to know that Jakarta is committed to facilitating an investment climate with clear regulations, efficient processes, and consistent policies. I am confident that the trust and collaboration we have built today will lead to our mutual success," said Pramono.

In his meeting with PM Wong, Pramono expressed his extensive experience in government as a crucial asset to ensuring effective communication with Indonesia’s strategic partners, including Singapore.

The meeting built upon a relationship that had been established earlier in the two men’s careers, when Pramono served as Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia, and Lawrence Wong held several strategic positions within the Singaporean government.

“My experience serving as Cabinet Secretary for two terms, and now as the Governor of Jakarta, has allowed me to bridge between national policies and their implementations at the regional level. This is crucial for providing certainty and confidence to investors," said Pramono.
