Kupang: PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) will resume pioneer ferry transport services in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) starting Monday, July 20, 2026, in an effort to maintain connectivity for communities in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.

The move follows a government directive instructing the Class II Land Transportation Management Agency (BPTD) in NTT to restore the services.

“For communities in island regions, these services serve as a vital link for social and economic activities. We are moving quickly to prepare fleets, personnel, and operational support to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation for the public,” President Director of Persero Heru Widodo said, as reported by Antara on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Pioneer ferry operations had been temporarily suspended since July 1, 2026, following a notification from the acting regulator, Class II BPTD NTT.

“However, after intensive coordination with the Ministry of Transportation, Class II BPTD NTT, and local governments to ensure operational readiness, we are now prepared to reinstate services,” ASDP Kupang Branch General Manager Ardhani Friandy said.

Ferry services in Kupang are set to resume, including the Larantuka-Solor, Solor-Lewoleba, Adonara (Deri)-Baranusa, Baranusa-Bakalang, and Bakalang-Kalabahi routes, as well as the Raijua-Sabu and Waingapu-Raijua routes.

The Kewapante-Palue, Palue-Marapokot, Kewapante-Pemana, and Kewapante-Pulau Besar routes, as well as the Kalabahi-Pulau Pura, Pulau Pura-Teluk Gurita, and Teluk Gurita-Maritaing routes are also scheduled to resume.

The Labuan Bajo-Pulau Rinca route and the Labuan Bajo-Waingapu route in Sape will also restart.
