Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto held a high-level bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud (MBS) at the Al-Salam Palace, Jeddah, Wednesday, July 2, 2025. This meeting is a strategic step for relations between the two countries through the Supreme Coordination Council (DKT) platform.
In the bilateral meeting, the two leaders also held the inaugural meeting of the Supreme Coordination Council (DKT). The two heads of state in this meeting signed the Minutes of Meeting (MoM) of the Indonesia–Saudi Arabia DKT.
One of the contents is the DKT Governance agreement, which will be the institutional reference framework for the DKT. It will then be coordinated by the two Foreign Ministers.
The signing of the Ministry of Home Affairs DKT is a monumental achievement that confirms Indonesia's position as one of Saudi Arabia's strategic partners in the Southeast Asia region. This DKT format has also been implemented by Saudi Arabia in its strategic relations with the United States and the People's Republic of China.
The historic meeting ended with a state banquet hosted by Prince MBS as a form of respect for President Prabowo. The visit also became unimportant in the direction of Indonesia's new active diplomacy in the geopolitical and economic map of the Islamic world.
