President Prabowo Emphasizes BRICS's Strategic Role in International Geopolitical Dynamics

Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto stated that BRICS has become a crucial pillar of stability and hope amidst challenging international geopolitical dynamics. The Head of State emphasized that multilateralism is currently facing serious tests, while the world continues to be plagued by instability.

"It is a great honor for me to attend this very important meeting. Indonesia views BRICS as a very strong pillar of stability and hope in the current international geopolitical situation," said Prabowo on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Prabowo made this statement while attending the BRICS Leaders Virtual Meeting from his private residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta.

The Head of State emphasized that, encompassing more than 55% of the world's population and more than 40% of global Gross Domestic Product (GDP), BRICS has now become a strategic power with the largest economy, largest population, largest market, and abundant natural resources.

BRICS has the largest economy, the largest population, the largest market, and countries with vast natural resources and critical resources. Therefore, BRICS is increasingly emerging as a pillar of strength. Indonesia supports the continuation of this role, said Prabowo.

He further emphasized the importance of openness, coordination, and close cooperation in addressing global threats. President Prabowo believes BRICS has a moral responsibility to be a driving force in creating a more just and balanced world order.

"We must continue to work more closely together. We must consult with each other more frequently," President Prabowo said.
