Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto will announce the names of foreign companies involved in forest and land burning in several parts of Indonesia.

He wont tolerate these activities and will hold all of the companies accountable.

“We will announce those names when the time comes,” Prabowo said in a speech at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, as reported by Metro TV’s Breaking News on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Prabowo asking for the public to remain calm. He added that the government had taken responsibility by deploying a large number of personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and local governments, all of whom had been working tirelessly.

“You are witnesses, and you are on the front lines. The regents and governors, these are our children, our people whose health has been damaged,” the President said.

Prabowo ensured the forest and land fires were not caused by people from Kalimantan, as they live in the region. He said it was unlikely that people from Kalimantan would be willing to see children suffer from the haze caused by forest and land fires.

“It must be people who have no love for the land of Indonesia and its people,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo said there were indications that many foreign companies should take responsibility for forest and land fires. He said some of these companies had violated regulations twice, while others had committed nearly 19 violations. Prabowo emphasized that the government would revoke their concession permits.

“In my opinion, there is no need to wait any longer. If a company violates the regulations twice, its permit should be revoked. but there are also some countries that mock and insult us, and any others, even though many of their companies operating here are responsible,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo urged the public not to be afraid of the companies that violated the regulations. He said the concession areas could be managed by Indonesians.

“Local governments and universities should look for talented young people. Surely Indonesians can manage these plantations. We might even manage them better because we love our country. Education is important. Governors and regents must educate the public. We must teach our people,” Prabowo said.
