Hannover: The Indonesian Students Association (PPI) Hannover successfully hosted the Sports, Arts, and Culinary Festival (PORSERA) 2025 at the Zentrum für Hochschulsport, Hannover, Germany, on August 30–31, 2025. The event featured a lively mix of sports, arts, and Indonesian culinary delights, drawing thousands of visitors from various countries.

This year, in addition to its flagship mini soccer tournament, PORSERA also introduced new athletic categories, relay and long run, which are currently gaining popularity in Germany.

“Our main goal is to channel the talents of the Indonesian diaspora. At the same time, we did not forget to express solidarity for the August 28 tragedy in Indonesia,” said Ibadurrahman Syabani Maulana, Chair of PPI Hannover 2024/2025.

According to a press release from PPI Hannover on Saturday, September 6, 2025, the sports competitions were joined by students from Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Korea, representing different regions across Germany. They competed passionately in athletics, badminton, basketball, volleyball, and mini soccer.

Event coordinator Arya Bahri Saman added, “Our hope is that PORSERA 2025 will raise awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, while also showcasing Indonesia’s cultural richness through arts and a culinary bazaar. This is a real form of cultural diplomacy on the global stage.”

Beyond its competitive atmosphere, the festival also celebrated Indonesian culture through a culinary bazaar featuring 30 authentic Nusantara dishes. The warm and vibrant setting was further enlivened by the enthusiasm of the international community, who joined in the PORSERA 2025 festivities.

Indonesian Consul General in Hamburg, Renata Siagian, praised the event. “PORSERA is not just for Indonesian students; it is an international platform that strengthens cross-cultural friendship. Sports serve as cultural diplomacy, teaching both sportsmanship and healthy competition. I am proud that PPI Hannover consistently delivers such positive initiatives,” she remarked.

The success of PORSERA 2025 was supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin, the Consulate General in Hamburg, PPI Germany, as well as sponsors including Techniker Krankenkasse, GOBA, and Master Bagasi. Media partners included PPI TV, Tempo, and Times Indonesia.

As PORSERA 2025 came to a close, PPI Hannover reaffirmed its commitment to organizing activities that strengthen solidarity among Indonesian students while introducing the nation’s culture to the international stage.
