Indonesia Air Force Send Aids to East Nusa Tenggara and Kalimantan

Jakarta: The Government has again sent six planes of Indonesia Air Force (TNI AU) on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 04:20 West Indonesian Time (WIB).

This action was carried out to distribute logistic and equipment aids to disaster-affected areas in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and the location of forest and land fire in Kalimantan.

“Three planes to Kalimantan, each to Pontianak, Palangka Raya, and Banjarmasin, carrying 500 water pump units those are parts of 2.000 water pump units that will be sent in stages,” explain the Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his written statement in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Monday, August 24, 2024.

The dispatch of 500 water pumps to Kalimantan was carried out to tackle hotspots in the residence and peatland areas. This effort was run in accordance with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto as well as following appeals from governors in Kalimantan. Every unit of the forest and land fire-fighting machine is equipped with a hose or pipe 1 kilometer long.

The other three planes of TNI AU have been flown to NTT with Labuan Bajo and Maumere as its direction. Those planes carry 31 ready-to-eat logistics such as wafer, biscuit, protein bar, bread, and several other food needs, whilst also toys for children.

Teddy emphasized that President Prabowo’s instruction regarding disaster management is really clear. The president calls for all management efforts must be carried out swiftly and in a coordinated manner.

“Every unit must ensure the logistic aids actually reach and are received by those who need it,” Teddy emphasized.

The government commits to continue to be present in every process of disaster management, as well as ensure all affected communities get the necessary support optimally.

“The Government ensures the affected communities are not alone. We are here and stand by them,” added Teddy.
