Upon arrival in Indonesia, the Indonesian citizens were greeted by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono.

"We welcome you back to Indonesia and wish you a safe reunion with your families," said Foreign Minister Sugiono when welcoming the evacuated Indonesian citizens, quoted from Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement.

Foreign Minister Sugiono also added that amidst the evolving situation in Iran and the region, the Indonesian Government's priority is ensuring the safety of Indonesian citizens in the region.

"Since the conflict began, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Indonesian Representatives in the Middle East, have continued to coordinate closely to assess the situation, collect data on Indonesian citizens, and discuss contingency measures," said the Minister.

The Indonesian citizens will then be assisted by their regional governments to continue their journey to their respective regions of origin.

This evacuation is part of the ongoing efforts of the Indonesian Government, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesian Representatives abroad, in this case the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran and the Indonesian Embassy in Baku, to ensure the safety and protection of Indonesian citizens abroad, particularly in conflict-affected areas.

According to records from the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, the number of Indonesian citizens registered in Iran is 329, most of whom are students concentrated in Qom, with the remainder being Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and expatriates.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, continues to maintain intensive communication to ensure the condition and whereabouts of Indonesian citizens and to assess the current forms of assistance available.
