Bandung: PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is working with the local government and the management of Kota Baru Parahyangan to prepare direct access from the township to the Whoosh Padalarang Station in West Java.

KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa said the access development is aimed at making passenger journeys more convenient while supporting smoother vehicle traffic around the station.

“KCIC, together with the local government and relevant parties, continues to improve access so that passengers can travel to and from Padalarang Station more easily and smoothly,” she said in West Bandung, as reported by Antara on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Eva explained that the access improvements are part of efforts to strengthen passenger travel integration, from the area surrounding the station to passengers entering the Whoosh high-speed rail service.

The development plan includes more than just the construction of connecting roads. Supporting facilities will include a park-and-ride area, a drop-off area, and a skybridge to facilitate passenger movement to the station.

Currently, most vehicles traveling to Whoosh Padalarang Station still rely on the existing road network around the station. At certain times, passenger pick-up and drop-off activities can increase traffic congestion.

The direct access from Kota Baru Parahyangan is expected to provide an alternative route to help distribute vehicle traffic to and from Whoosh Padalarang Station.

“A comfortable journey does not begin only when passengers are on board the Whoosh, but also from the moment they travel to the station,” she said.

The access development plan was included in a joint agreement among four parties in August 2025. The agreement was subsequently followed up through public consultations, joint surveys, and the designation of the project location.

As of August 2026, the parties were still discussing adjustments to the action plan and the next stages of the Padalarang Station-Kota Baru Parahyangan access development.

KCIC said the development of integrated access is expected not only to make travel more convenient for Whoosh passengers, but also to support smoother traffic and public mobility in the Padalarang area.
