Singapore: President Prabowo Subianto left Singapore on Monday evening, June 16, 2025, after completing a two-day state visit to the country and continues visit to Russia. President Prabowo and his entourage took off from Paya Lebar Air Base at around 22:45 local time.
President Prabowo's departure was officially seen off by Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng, as well as Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo and Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore Colonel Hendra Supriyadi.
Before leaving Singapore, President Prabowo had undergone a number of state agendas since the morning.
"On Monday morning, June 16, 2025, President Prabowo Subianto began his series of state visits to Singapore by attending a state welcoming ceremony at Parliament House. President Prabowo's arrival was welcomed directly by the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his statement on Monday, June 16, 2025.
After the welcoming ceremony, President Prabowo also held the annual Leaders' Retreat bilateral meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. In the meeting, President Prabowo called the momentum of the Leaders' Retreat this time as an important milestone in a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two countries.
Not only that, a special moment also colored this state visit. President Prabowo had the opportunity to name the hybrid orchid "Paraphalanthe Dora Sigar Soemitro", as a tribute to his late mother.
"The name of the orchid was chosen directly by President Prabowo as a form of respect for his beloved late mother, Dora Sigar Soemitro," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
After the agenda in Singapore, President Prabowo will continue his state visit to Russia, in order to fulfill the direct invitation of President Vladimir Putin for a state visit as well as to be the main speaker at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025.
"This state visit is a very strategic visit to strengthen comprehensive cooperation and partnership between Indonesia and Russia. And of course, this shows that Indonesia as a big country is increasingly respected in the eyes of the world, especially amidst the development of various global challenges that are increasing," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
Accompanying President Prabowo on the flight to Russia was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
