Morotai Island: For many children, going to school simply means walking from home. But for 23 children on Rao Island, Morotai Island Regency, North Maluku, getting to school takes much more effort.

The sea is part of their daily journey, and crossing it is not a choice but a necessity if they want to study.

Seeing these conditions, officers from the Morotai Water and Air Police (Polairud) unit stepped in to help. They did so not only to carry out their duties, but also to show that they care about the future of young people in coastal areas and on small islands.

Through its Morotai unit, the North Maluku Regional Police's Water and Air Police (Polairud) provides a pick-up and drop-off service for 23 high school and junior high school students from Samiamao Village to their school in Posi-Posi Village, Rao Island District, Morotai Island Regency.

Using a fiberglass boat built on the initiative of the Morotai Polairud officers, the children now get help crossing the water to reach their school. The 15-horsepower boat is crewed by two Polairud officers and equipped with life jackets for safety.

Every trip puts safety first, because the passengers are not just passengers, but children working toward their future through education.

For some people, this may be just a trip across the water. But for these children, this help means the chance to stay in school, reach their dreams, and move toward a better future.

After all, service is not about how far we sail, but about how much good we can do. Together with the community, the police are here to protect the sea and serve the people.
