Prabowo Receives Turkish Foreign Minister in Hambalang

Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at his residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The meeting took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere, reflecting the strong friendship and strategic partnership that has existed between Indonesia and Turkey.

Hakan Fidan's visit to Indonesia was at Prabowo's direct invitation. The visit is part of the two countries' commitment to continuously strengthen communication and coordination amidst increasingly dynamic regional and global developments.

According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat's Office (BPMI) reported by Media Indonesia, Prabowo expressed his appreciation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and the Turkish government for their support and cooperation in the repatriation of nine Indonesian citizens who were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 humanitarian mission.

According to Prabowo, Turkiye assistance in the mission demonstrates the strong relationship between the two countries and reflects a shared commitment to upholding humanitarian values ??and international solidarity.

In addition to discussing bilateral cooperation, the two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East. The discussion covered a number of regional issues of global concern, particularly the developing situations in Iran and Palestine.

As countries both in the Global South, Indonesia and Turkiye share a common view on the importance of maintaining regional stability through dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful conflict resolution.

The two also agreed to continue enhancing coordination in supporting de-escalation efforts in the various conflicts in the Middle East. Meanwhile, Indonesia and Turkiye reaffirmed their shared commitment to fighting for justice for the Palestinian people.
