Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto welcomed Belarus’s ratification of the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA).
“We appreciate Belarus’s ratification of the I-EAEU FTA. We are currently working to ratify the agreement,” said President Prabowo in a joint statement with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The free trade agreement was signed on December 21, 2025, between Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.
Indonesia and Belarus also launched the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Roadmap 2026-2030, a framework for expanding bilateral ties. The two countries have agreed to deepen cooperation across several sectors, including agriculture, trade, and culture.
“This roadmap reflects our shared commitment to more focused and concrete cooperation,” Prabowo remarked.
Lukashenko added, “we will ensure food security between the two countries and cooperate on various global affairs.”
