President Prabowo Officially Inaugurates 5 New Ministers

Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated five new ministers in the Red and White Cabinet. One new minister and five new ministers from a reshuffle.

In addition to the five ministers, the Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah was also inaugurated.

The following is a list of the newly inaugurated ministers:

1. Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa becomes Minister of Finance, replacing Sri Mulyani

2. Ferry Juliantono becomes Minister of Cooperatives, replacing Budi Arie

3. Mukhtaruddin becomes Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, replacing Abdul Kadir Karding

4. Sjafrie Sjamsoeedin concurrently holds the position of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, replacing Budi Gunawan

5. Mochamad Irfan Yusuf becomes Minister of Hajj and Umrah

6. Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak becomes Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah

All new ministers took their oaths of office led by President Prabowo Subianto. The name of the replacement for the Minister of Youth and Sports has not yet been announced.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will be a new ministry within the Red and White Cabinet. The ministry's formation has been approved by the House of Representatives (DPR) and the government. The Head of State has also signed a decree regarding the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

Meanwhile, Prasetyo confirmed that the changes to the positions of five ministers made by the Head of State were based on various considerations, input, and continuous evaluation.

"Therefore, this afternoon, the President has decided to make changes to the composition of several ministerial positions in the Red and White Cabinet," Prasetyo said.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will be established as a new ministry within the Indonesian Cabinet. The ministry's formation has been approved by the House of Representatives (DPR) and the government. The Head of State has also signed a decree regarding the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

After being inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta, the newly appointed ministers expressed their commitment to immediately begin work in accordance with their mandate. In their statement on Monday, September 8, 2025, the ministers expressed their readiness to implement the President's directives, both in public service and strengthening the national development agenda.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, conveyed President Prabowo's direction that improving the best service for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims be a top priority. This includes finding the best solutions to make Hajj costs more affordable.

"What the President has conveyed, assigning us as Minister of Hajj and Deputy Minister of Hajj to Bang Dahnil, is a heavy mandate and responsibility. I say heavy because over the past 10 months, I have known exactly how the Hajj situation is, both in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Therefore, I was very happy that the President said, 'Do what needs to be done to provide the best service to our Hajj pilgrims,'" he said.

Meanwhile, Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers/Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (P2MI), Mukhtarudin, emphasized the importance of implementing the government's grand vision. "The difficult task ahead regarding migrant workers is also a significant challenge that we must pay attention to. So, in essence, I will carry out my duties diligently, to the best of my ability, in accordance with the President's directives," said Mukhtarudin.

Similarly, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Joko Yuliantono affirmed his commitment to immediately continuing the programs that have been launched, one of which is the Red and White Cooperative. "Starting tomorrow, we will move as quickly as possible on activities, specifically for the Red and White Village/Sub-District Cooperatives, and cooperatives in general," said Minister Ferry.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa conveyed President Prabowo's directives to improve the slowing national economy. The Minister stated that this slowdown had been identified and could be addressed immediately.

"The economy is currently slowing somewhat. We have studied the weaknesses, and we will improve them going forward," he said.
