Jakarta: PT Elnusa Petrofin, a subsidiary of Pertamina Group, has begun distributing B50 Biodiesel from its Indonesia Bulk Terminal (IBT) in Pulau Laut, South Kalimantan, to industrial customers, as part of the B50 National Mandate.
“Elnusa Petrofin is proud to play a key role in the B50 program, which aims to strengthen national energy security while increasing the use of domestically sourced fuels,” President Director Doni Indrawan remarked in a written statement on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The first shipment of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) arrived on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, aboard the MT Ocean Link. A day later, the OB Ocean Brave delivered the first shipment of B50 Biodiesel to VHS Patra Logistik. Doni cited the successful shipment as a demonstration of the company’s infrastructure readiness and operational capabilities.
“We are committed to delivering operational excellence while upholding superior Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards across all our operations,” he said.
Inline blending
The IBT receives supplies of FAME and pure diesel fuel, blends them into B50 Biodiesel, and distributes the finished product to industrial customers. It is equipped with Automatic Inline Blending (ILB) technology, which automates the blending process within the pipeline. With a flow capacity of 250 to 1,000 kiloliters per hour, the system enables more precise and efficient blending, while maintaining government fuel quality standards.
Pertamina aims to encourage the use of renewable energy and create added value for Indonesia’s palm oil industry through the production of B50 Biodiesel.
“Elnusa Petrofin will continue to strengthen its role [in the B50 Program] through infrastructure development, technological innovation, and sustainable operations,” Doni affirmed.
