Solok: The Solok Regency Government in West Sumatra has declared a hydrometeorological disaster emergency for the next 14 days, starting November 25, 2025. This status is due to the high intensity of rainfall over the past few days and is intended to expedite disaster management and recovery efforts for the community.
"Our disaster alert status is effective for the next 14 days. Please provide meeting invitations, meeting minutes, a decree establishing the status, and documentation of activities," said Solok Regency Regional Secretary Medison, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 27, 2025.
He further stated that compensation will be provided to the community. This assistance will include stimulants, seeds, and other assistance.
The Regional Secretary urged each relevant Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) to prepare a budget (RKB), which will then be evaluated by the Regional Inspectorate. In addition, each Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) has submitted funds for Unexpected Assistance (BTT) based on the Regional Inspectorate's evaluation results in accordance with applicable regulations.
Regarding infrastructure access, the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department has prepared a report and proposal to be submitted to the central government in the form of a PDF of Disaster Impact Data.
Acting Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Solok Regency, Marizal, added that numerous disasters have occurred. Rainfall intensity has also continued to increase over the past few days.
"Based on information from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), rainfall will continue to increase until November 27, 2025, resulting in flooding, landslides, and fallen trees in most areas of Solok Regency," he said.
He added that this has even caused damage to roads and bridges, which are vital infrastructure for the community. Therefore, the Solok Regency Government has declared a state of emergency.
He hopes that by declaring an emergency status, mitigation measures will be faster, more effective, and more targeted. The goal is to ensure the safety and recovery of affected communities.
The Regent of Solok also expressed his appreciation for the steps taken by the technical regional government agencies (OPD) in disaster management. He stated that the use of the BTT funds will be specifically for assisting affected communities and facilitating disaster management efforts.
"Coordination between stakeholders is crucial. I urge all relevant parties to work according to their respective functions to expedite field response, ensure full BTT disbursement, and implement it in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.
