Power and Telecommunications Networks in NTT Restored: BNPB

Nagekeo: The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported to President Prabowo Subianto on the status of power and telecommunications networks in earthquake-affected areas of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Both networks have been confirmed as fully restored.

"Regarding the power grid, we have received information that it is 100 percent restored," said BNPB Head Lieutenant General Suharyanto while presenting a disaster response report at the Natural Disaster Response Post in Nagekeo, NTT, as cited in a Metro TV Breaking News broadcast on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Telecommunications networks across most of the disaster-affected areas were also reported to be back online. Executives from communication service providers visited the field personally to inspect the situation.

"The President Director of Telkom came here personally to oversee the checks," Suharyanto stated.

Meanwhile, regarding fuel supplies, the BNPB confirmed that there are no longer distribution bottlenecks or queues of residents at gas stations. Daily energy needs for the community are expected to stabilize within two weeks after the disaster.

"As for fuel, we report that after this 12th day, there are no longer fuel shortages. There are no more queues; community life regarding fuel availability has essentially returned to normal," Suharyanto said.

Regarding the restoration of other basic infrastructure -,such as clean water availability in several affected locations,- intensive coordination is ongoing with the Ministry of Public Works (PU) to accelerate repairs to local water distribution networks.
