Jakarta: Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka affirmed his commitment to continuously monitoring the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs throughout the country.

Gibran made this statement while attending the public prayer gathering for the 55th anniversary of KH Abd. Wahab Chasbullah at the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java.

"So, a few weeks ago, I happened to be accompanied by my Deputy Governor to the Islamic boarding school, to Tremas Pacitan and Trenggalek. We wanted to ensure that the President's programs were truly implemented in the regions," Gibran said in a press statement, as quoted by Media Indonesia, Monday, May 11, 2026.

Gibran explained that his visits to various regions in East Java aimed to directly monitor strategic programs such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), Free Health Checks (CKG), and the Red and White Village Cooperative. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the central and regional governments so that the benefits of these policies are directly felt by the community.

In addition to monitoring physical programs, the Vice President also requested all elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and the kiai (Islamic scholars) overseeing Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to participate in overseeing the implementation of government programs.

"I entrust the Kiai, the National Police Chief, the Governor, the Regent, and the Forkopimda to always oversee the President's priority programs, including the MBG (National Development Planning Agency), the CKG (Cultural Development Planning Agency), village cooperatives, Fishermen's Villages, and other programs. We pray that the President's priority programs will run smoothly, especially in East Java," he said.

On the occasion, Gibran also highlighted the strategic role of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in developing a competitive future generation. He appreciated the Islamic boarding school curriculum, which is now expanding into fields such as information technology and agriculture. He believes this is highly relevant to the government's vision of achieving food self-sufficiency.

"And because there is an agriculture major here, this is also in line with the President's priority program, namely food self-sufficiency," Gibran said.

The Vice President viewed the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School as a successful example of an educational institution capable of producing prominent national figures and adapting to the needs of the times by offering a variety of higher education majors.
