Pramono Welcomes Palestinian Ambassador and Reaffirm Support for Their Peoples

Jakarta: Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung received Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulfattah A.K. Al-Sattari at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
 
During the meeting, Pramono voiced concern over the ongoing conflict in Palestine.
 
“We are deeply concerned about the harrowing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. Palestinians continue to face loss of life, repeated displacement, and shortages of water, food, and healthcare services,” he said.
 
The Jakarta governor reaffirmed the city’s support for the Palestinian people, stating that they have the “right to live in peace and security, and with dignity.”
 
Pramono also highlighted the two sides’ storied diplomatic and cultural ties, citing Jakarta’s sister-city partnership with Al-Quds Al-Sharif, which dates back to October 21, 2007.
 
He expressed hope that the courtesy visit would further strengthen the relations between Jakarta residents and the Palestinian people.
