Jakarta: Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka departed for Johannesburg, South Africa, to attend the G20 Summit. Gibran will representing President Prabowo Subianto at the forum.
The Vice President took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at 9:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), Friday, November 21, 2025. He was seen off by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBBP) to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, Andy Rachmianto.
The Vice President's presence at this forum underscores the Indonesian government's commitment under President Prabowo Subianto to continue playing an active role in global economic recovery and strengthening international cooperation.
Gibran and his limited entourage will fly approximately 10 hours and 50 minutes to arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.
The G20 South Africa Summit will take place over two days, November 22–23, 2025, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre. The Vice President will deliver a speech on behalf of President Prabowo and emphasize Indonesia's position on various priority global issues.
Furthermore, during the G20 Summit series, the Vice President is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with leaders of friendly countries. The Vice President will convey President Prabowo's message, particularly regarding strengthening relations and cooperation between countries.
