Batam: During a meeting with a Senator from the State of Arizona, United States, the Deputy for Investment and Business Development of BP Batam, Fary Djemy Francis, reaffirmed President Prabowo Subianto’s strong commitment to positioning Batam as a world class investment destination.
Fary emphasized that the central government, through BP Batam, is fully committed to transforming Batam into a global hub for investors. This effort is supported by national policies focusing on simplifying regulations and accelerating licensing processes to ensure a more efficient and investor-friendly environment.
“Batam will become a role model for economic growth. And also, President Prabowo direct to us how to simplify regulation and license," said Fary in front of the Arizona State Senate delegation.
According to BP Batam’s data, Batam’s export-import performance has shown a strong upward trend. In the first half of 2025, Batam’s export value reached USD 9.6 billion, an increase of 27.8% compared to the same period last year, while imports grew by 29.8% to USD 7.2 billion — reflecting rising industrial and trade activities in the region.
The meeting is expected to serve as an entry point for more concrete cooperation between Indonesia and the United States, particularly in investment, technology, and export-oriented manufacturing industries.
