Jakarta: The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has confirmed that no fatalities were recorded following a series of forest and land across Aceh, West Java, and Central Java.

Head of the BNPB’s Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, remarked that the incidents began with a fire in Gentan Village, Bulu District, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, on the night of Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The inferno engulfed four hectares of land before being extinguished on Sunday, June 28, in a joint operation involving the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the military (TNI), the police (Polri), and volunteers.

Another land fire was reported in Birem Puntong Village, Langsa Baro District, Langsa City, Aceh, on Sunday, scorching two hectares of land and a house.

The fire was reportedly triggered by trash burning. The Langsa City BPBD promptly deployed two fire engines and a water tanker, successfully extinguishing the blaze within mere hours.

A third fire was reported in Tomo Village, Tomo District, Sumedang Regency, West Java, burning two hectares of land.

“The fire was successfully brought under control through a coordinated effort by the local BPBD and joint teams. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation," Abdul said.
