Densus 88 Arrests Eight Suspected Terrorists in Central Sulawesi

Poso: Personnel from the National Police's Densus 88 Anti-terror unit arrested eight residents in the Parigi Moutong and Poso Regency areas, Central Sulawesi, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The arrest which happens at 2:00 a.m. WITA include one of the residents arrested was AC, a fruit seller in Parigi Moutong District.
Fully armed, joint officers from the National Police's Densus 88 Anti-terror unit and the Central Sulawesi Regional Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) surrounded a house in North Tomoli Village, Toribulu District, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi.
Based on information gathered, the National Police's Densus 88 Anti-Terror unit conducted a series of arrests of residents suspected of involvement in terrorist activities by a specific network in the region.
According to data collected, the arrests were made in the Parigi Moutong and Poso areas. In North Tomoli Village, Toribulu District, a Densus 88 team searched the house of a resident identified as AC and secured several pieces of evidence. The village head stated that the arrest was conducted through persuasion.
"The arrest was made by Densus 88. The person in question lives in this community, like anyone else. The only difference is that he's a fruit seller," said the Head of Hamlet 1 of North Tomoli, Jufri Haruji, as quoted on Metro TV’s, ‘Metro Siang’ broadcast on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
AC is known as a fruit seller. There has been no official statement from security authorities regarding the series of arrests.
