Jakarta: The Ministry of Defense confirmed that two more Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers were killed in action during a humanitarian mission in Lebanon.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the ministry explained that the two soldiers died in the line of duty on Monday, March 30.

"In this incident, two TNI soldiers were reportedly killed. Meanwhile, two other soldiers suffered serious injuries. The injured soldiers are currently receiving intensive medical treatment at a health facility in Beirut," said the ministry's Head of Information Bureau, Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait, as quoted from Antara, March 31, 2026.

However, Sirait did not provide details regarding the chronology of the attack. His office is currently coordinating with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to ensure the safety of personnel serving in the region.

"The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Defense and the TNI, continues to closely coordinate with UNIFIL headquarters to ensure the safety of all personnel and ensure the best possible treatment for the victims," he affirmed.

With these two casualties, a total of three TNI soldiers have died while carrying out peacekeeping missions in Lebanon.

Previously, the Head of the Information Center of TNI Headquarters, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, stated that the body of Chief Private Farizal Rhomadhon, who was killed by artillery fire on Sunday, March 29, was undergoing administrative processing for repatriation to Indonesia.

"The deceased soldier is currently being laid to rest at East Sector Headquarters and is completing the administrative process for his repatriation with assistance from the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut," he said on Monday.

Chief Private Farizal was a member of UNIFIL peacekeeping troops in Company C, UNP 7-1, Task Force Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL.

He was killed in action as a result of an artillery attack that hit the Indonesian contingent's location in the city of Adshit al-Qusyar in South Lebanon on Sunday.

According to Nasrullah, the artillery attack occurred due to the escalating conflict in the region. Three other soldiers were also injured in the attack, namely Chief Private Rico Pramudia, Chief Private Bayu Prakoso, and Chief Private Arif Kurniawan.

"Chief Private Rico Pramudia suffered serious injuries, while Chief Private Bayu Prakoso and Chief Private Arif Kurniawan suffered minor injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment," Nasrullah stated.
