Jakarta: Indonesia strongly condemns Israel’s continued attacks across the entire Gaza Strip, including those targeting the Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza.

“Israel’s attacks on civilian facilities constitute grave violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and human rights,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement, Tuesday 20 May 2025.

Indonesia urges the UN Security Council and the international community to take decisive action to uphold international law and end Israel’s atrocities.

Indonesia also pushes for a permanent ceasefire and unrestricted access for humanitarian aid must be realized without delay.

The Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, was again targeted by an Israeli airstrike on Monday night, hitting an external power generator and causing a major fire.

The incident occurred while the hospital was still under siege by Israeli forces amid an escalation of the ground offensive dubbed Operation Gideon’s Chariots.

The Director-General of the Gaza Health Ministry, Munir al-Bursh, stated that the Indonesian Hospital immediately experienced a total power outage after the attack. He warned that this condition threatens the lives of patients and injured victims undergoing treatment.
