Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto is confirmed to attend the inaugural summit of the Board of Peace (BoP) in the United States next week.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said the president had received an official invitation to attend the first BoP meeting, scheduled for February 19, 2026.
“President Prabowo Subianto is planning to attend,” Nabyl said in a written statement on Wednesday, as quoted by Antara.
According to the spokesperson, the president’s attendance underscores Indonesia’s commitment to playing an active role in shaping the direction and agenda of the Board of Peace from the outset.
He added that during the meeting, President Prabowo will continue to advocate for Palestinian interests, particularly in relation to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and the broader struggle of the Palestinian people, in line with the aspirations of the Indonesian public.
Indonesia will also continue to push for Gaza’s recovery and pursue a just and sustainable peace for Palestine within the framework of a two-state solution through its participation in the Board of Peace, Nabyl said.
Separately, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that President Prabowo will travel to the United States to attend the BoP summit.
In addition to participating in the summit, the president is also scheduled to sign the Indonesia–US Reciprocal Tariff Agreement, which is nearing completion.
“The President is expected to attend the event on the 19th (of February), and around that time there are also plans to sign the ART, the Agreement on Reciprocal Tariffs,” Airlangga said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The White House previously announced that it would host the inaugural Board of Peace summit on February 19, and leaders of member countries have been contacted to attend the event, according to a report by Anadolu.
Indonesia officially became a member of the Board of Peace after President Prabowo signed the organization’s founding charter during its launch in Davos, Switzerland, on January 22, 2026.
