Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto has established a selection committee to appoint new members of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) board of commissioners, naming Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as its chair.
The announcement was made by Arief Wibisono, expert staff to the finance minister for financial services and capital markets, during a press conference at the Finance Ministry in Jakarta on Wednesday. Arief also serves as head of the committee’s secretariat.
“We have initiated the selection process for OJK commissioners, opening opportunities for Indonesia’s best talents to participate,” he said as quoted from Antara, Wednesday 11 February 2026.
Under a presidential decree signed on Monday (Feb. 9), President Prabowo approved the formation of the committee. Its members include Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, BI Deputy Governor Aida Budiman, Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara, and Deputy State Secretariat Minister Bambang Eko Suhariyanto.
The committee also comprises senior officials from the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, a constitutional law expert, and a graphologist.
It is tasked with selecting candidates for the positions of OJK chair and deputy chair, as well as chief executive responsible for overseeing capital markets, financial derivatives, and carbon exchange supervision, following recent resignations.
The government said the selection aims to ensure leadership continuity at the OJK, strengthen governance, and optimize its role as an independent and credible authority supervising the financial services sector.
Applicants must be Indonesian citizens with at least 10 years of relevant experience, have no record of causing a company bankruptcy, not be affiliated with a political party, and have never been sentenced to prison for five years or more.
Online registration will run from Feb. 11 to March 2, 2026. The selection process includes administrative screening, public input, background checks, written assessments, medical examinations, and interviews.
The final and binding results will be announced on the official websites of the Finance Ministry and Bank Indonesia, as well as the dedicated OJK selection.
