Jakarta Hosts Inaugural Harmony in Diversity Award 2026

Jakarta: Jakarta hosted the inaugural “Harmony in Diversity Award 2026” from July 14 to 15, becoming the first city to stage the regional event celebrating diversity across Southeast Asia.
“At a time when the world has become increasingly complex, we view this event as a shared commitment to fostering peace, friendship, and unity among the people Southeast Asia,” DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said during a welcoming dinner at the Jakarta City Hall, as reported by Antara on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Pramono expressed his commitment to embracing inclusivity and diversity, saying that his provincial government has consistently supported religious and cultural celebrations across the city.
“From Christmas Carols and Lunar New Year celebrations, to the Ogoh-ogoh parade and the Jakarta Bedug and Vesak festivals, each has a place in this city. This diversity is Jakarta’s greatest strength,” Pramono remarked.
The event, organized by the Temasek Foundation and the 5P Global Movement, will honor several influential figures, including Cardinal Orlando Beltran Quevedo, who has been recognized for his role in advancing peace in Mindanao through the Bishops-Ulama Conference.
The state dinner also bring together various prominent ASEAN figures, including former Singaporean President Halimah Yacob, 5P Global Movement founder Arsjad Rasjid, and former Indonesian Foreign Ministers, Retno Marsudi and Marty Natalegawa.
