JIS Retractable Roof Wins Bentley YII Awards 2026

Jakarta: The retractable roof of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) has won an award at the Bentley Year in Infrastructure (YII) Awards 2026 in Singapore. The award was presented in the Structural Engineering category.

This news was announced via the official Jakarta International Stadium Instagram account, @jakintstadium. In the post, JIS management invited the public to show appreciation for the engineers involved in constructing the stadium's roof.

"The massive retractable roof at JIS has just won an award at the Bentley Year in Infrastructure Awards 2026," the account wrote in a post cited on Monday, October 12, 2026.

The award has garnered attention for showcasing the structural engineering capabilities applied to one of the key features of this stadium, a source of pride for Jakarta.

WIKA Gedung Reveals Role of AI in Engineering

In the same post, the contractor, WIKA Gedung, explained the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to minimize the risk of errors and potential losses during engineering operations.

WIKA Gedung’s Engineering Digitalization Manager, Arddhanu, conveyed the company's commitment to continuing to produce outstanding work while demonstrating the capabilities of Indonesian engineers.

"We aim to keep creating and proving that Indonesian engineers possess great capability and competence," said Arddhanu.

The use of AI in engineering work is one of the measures taken to support more effective work processes, including identifying potential errors and mitigating the risk of losses.
