President Prabowo Urges 2,000 Young Officers to Serve as Guardians of the Peoples

Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated 2,000 young officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. During the Prasetya Perwira (Commissioning Ceremony), Prabowo advised the 2,000 officers to dedicate themselves to the nation and state.

"Become the people's army, the national army, the warrior army. Be the people's police, the national police, the warrior police. Always defend your people, always love your people. You are the true children of the Indonesian people," Prabowo said in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

The inauguration of the 2,000 officers was accompanied by an oath-taking dictated directly by the President. The oath emphasized fulfilling their obligations as officers to the best of their ability, to the Indonesian nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

Furthermore, they vowed to lead their subordinates by setting an example, building initiative, and guiding them on the straight and true path. They will be willing to sacrifice their lives and bodies to defend their nation and homeland.

President Prabowo asked the officers to truly internalize the oath of office. "Please internalize and heed what you have said. Today, before all the people, before God Almighty, you have declared your willingness to sacrifice your lives and bodies for the nation and state," Prabowo said.

The thousand officers inaugurated today consist of 826 officers from the Indonesian Military, 433 from the Naval Academy, 293 from the Air Force Academy, and 447 from the Police Academy.
