Tunis: The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), which is preparing to sail toward the Gaza Strip, has intensified training and simulations for all volunteers as part of final preparations.

In its latest simulation held at the Radisson Hotel Tunis, Tunisia, organizers urged volunteers to remain focused and fully committed to the training.

In addition to GSF, the Sumud Nusantara movement also contributed material during the training session held on Saturday, September 6.

Muhammad Nadir al-Nuri, Coordinator of Sumud Nusantara, emphasized that Sumud Nusantara and GSF will jointly bring volunteers from 44 countries in an effort to break the blockade on Gaza. Two Metro TV journalists, Iqbal Himawan and Yahdin Syafrizal, are also part of the delegation.

“We will open a humanitarian corridor to deliver aid to the people of Gaza, ensuring food and other assistance can reach Gaza,” Nadir said in a written statement received by Metrotvnews.com on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Nadir added that substantial aid is being brought from Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as other countries including Pakistan, the Maldives, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines.

“These countries will be part of a large coalition alongside Arab nations. And we will make history, God willing,” he stressed.

According to Nadir, Sumud Nusantara has previously carried out ten missions to reach Gaza. “This time, we will attempt to break the siege by sea. But this mission will be the largest we have ever undertaken,” he said.

“The number of ships and volunteers involved is the greatest so far,” he added.

Maimon Herawati, an Indonesian volunteer from IGPC, said she is ready to depart for Gaza as ships from Spain have already arrived in Tunisia. “God willing, this will come true. I feel both nervous and excited to set sail,” Maimon said.

“We do not yet know who exactly will board the ships, but regardless, we are prepared to sail,” she concluded.
