Jakarta: The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Yangon successfully facilitated the repatriation of 20 troubled Indonesian citizens (WNI) from Myanmar, who arrived safely in Jakarta on Wednesday morning, August 27, 2025.
According to a statement on the Indonesian Foreign Ministry’s website, the repatriation was the result of intensive coordination between the embassy and relevant Myanmar authorities, including immigration and local officials, to ensure the protection of citizens’ rights and the completion of travel documents.
The process was also supported through close cooperation with the Directorate for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens (PWNI) and the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, particularly in arranging commercial flights and transit to Indonesia.
This success reflects the government’s concrete commitment to protecting Indonesian citizens abroad, including those in Myanmar. The embassy expressed appreciation to Myanmar authorities, as well as to the PWNI Directorate and the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth repatriation.
The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon emphasized that the government, through its overseas missions, will continue to work tirelessly to provide protection and assistance for all citizens abroad, particularly those facing legal or immigration issues.
