Jakarta: The House of Representatives (DPR) held a meeting with the government at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, June 26, 2026, to discuss potential worker layoffs.
“From today’s discussion, there have been several points that each party wishes to raise,” said DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, as reported by Metro TV's Breaking News on Friday, June 26, 2026.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), who also serves as Head of the Layoff Mitigation Task Force, Prasetyo Hadi; Minister of Manpower Yassierli; KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea; the National Police's Manpower Desk; and Special Advisor to the President on Manpower and Worker Welfare, Said Iqbal.
Prasetyo Hadi said that the meeting covered several issues, including companies at risk of layoffs.
“We are mapping which companies are vulnerable and the reasons behind it, so that we can take the appropriate mitigation steps,” Pras explained.
The government and the DPR also discussed gas supply shortages for the industrial sector, which have threatened tens of thousands of jobs in the ceramics industry.
“Following the President’s directive, we are moving quickly to find a solution. We expect to reach a decision within the next day or two to ensure that affected sectors can continue operating normally,” Pras said.
